The mission of the Washington County Historical Society is to lead the preservation and furtherance of knowledge of the heritage and history of Washington County and Alabama Territorial Capital - Old St. Stephens. This includes our collection of historical information, historical artifacts, the preservation of historical structures and oral histories. Through our efforts, we all have a better understanding and appreciation of our past.
